Although the two day Tube Strike is a nuisance, I had the opportunity to take a leisurely bus journey past many wonderful sights in central London this morning while travelling to work, it was like a mini sighseeing trip. It certainly reminded me how beautiful London is.

Hey, you were ten years old at the time so that's ok. I miss the old Routemster, it was handy being able to jump off the bus when stuck in a traffic jam.

I used to love travelling by Routemaster. It was almost an event in itself. And I achieved one of my life-long ambitions at the age of ten when, after years of building up the nerve, reached up and pulled the indescribably appealing bell cord that ran from front to back.
I was the proudest boy in the world as the bus dutifully slowed then stopped.
Sometimes I think I'm a bit simple.
